my books

As is the case with most things in my life, my writing is a bit... eclectic. Here you'll find the books I have out right now, published through Amazon either in paperback or for the Kindle. Though my fiction novels aren't Christian, they are stories of good vs. evil and right vs. wrong--the ultimate struggle in life, if you think about it.

If you've read one of my books, can I ask you a favor? Please leave me a review on Amazon!

Fantasy Novels

THE PROPHECY is a fantasy novel, the story of a young man named Paodin and a young Healer named Syndria. They are thrust together in a battle to free the kingdom of Tundyel from a cruel king, but soon find that their ultimate battle isn't against him. Instead, it is a fight against a Darkness more evil and dangerous than they realize.

This is my first novel and the first in the Sons of Tundyel series.

HINDSIGHT is a coming-of-age tale, a fantasy novel about Roedel who is told he is the only hope for defeating the mysterious, merciless army of the Feron and their cruel master.

Devotionals

GLIMPSES OF HIS MAGNIFICENCE is a 4-week devotional on the power of God. While the message of God's love is amazing, it seems today that it gets chosen over the reminder that God is awesomely powerful, that He is the Supreme Ruler of the universe He created. This small devotional serves as a reminder of that, and each scripture is written out in the pages so it is easy to use any time or anywhere.

GLIMPSES... DEVOTIONALS TO COLOR is a devotional designed to help you focus on God and what it means to get to know Him. Each short study is accompanied by an illustration of the key verse for that day, so you can enjoy your creative side while you dive into studying God's word.

WALKING WITH PETER: FOLLOWING THE WAY WHEN YOU CAN'T SEE THE PATH is a short, 4-week devotional which follows Peter's walk with Jesus. It is designed to give a short devotional lesson each weekday (with weekends off mostly because that's always when I get off-track with my own studies!). If you're struggling to keep moving forward, you might identify with Peter.

GOD'S BEAUTIFUL WORDS FOR NEW MOMS Being a new mom is wonderful...but it's also exhausting, hard work. Sometimes, you need a little encouragement. You need a reminder that God is with you, and that He will never leave you alone. When you make a mistake you think you can't get past, or when you simply feel overwhelmed, take just a minute to read one of the short devotions in this book. They only take a couple minutes each—long enough to catch your breath and renew your spirit.

Children's Books

DO YOU KNOW HOW LOVED YOU ARE? is a bit of a departure from the others. This is a children's book, written for my very first niece, Avery. One thing every little one needs to know is how loved they are by the people around them. Even more importantly, though, they should know how much God loves them. This book is a combination of illustrations and word art and is perfect for reading with the little ones in your life.

SOMEONE LIKE YOU! Every baby is special, created by God to fit perfectly into His plan. The bright pictures and easy reading make this a great book to help your child start to understand God's love. This book is designed for you to be able to customize the end--simply write your child's name in the heart, and have family and friends fill the page with notes for a special keepsake.

THE TINY STAR There was once a tiny star who didn't think she was enough--not big enough, bright enough, or pretty enough. The Maker told her He had big plans for her, but she couldn't understand why He would pick her. "The Tiny Star" is a beautiful illustration of God's love for each one of us. He made each of us for a purpose--we just have to trust Him in order to find it.

FAITH LIKE A MUSTARD SEED is a children's book that offers a reminder that God is always in control, and that He has a purpose for your life.

a little bit of physics (don't be scared!)

"by faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible." hebrews 11:3 this is one of my favorite verses--i call it my physics verse because to me it is tying together my faith and subatomic particles. no, really--i mean it! when i first started working on a degree in physics and a minor in biology, somebody (i don't remember who anymore, but it seems like it was somebody on some kind of discussion board...) told me that i would forget about all that dumb "christianity" (<--spell checker doesn't like that. hmm...) stuff. once i had been educated, i would see that faith was superstition and a pointless waste of time, something for the ignorant, uneducated masses.  while i'm sure that is the conclusion some people come to, it sure wasn't for me.                                quite the opposite, really. i sat/struggled/cried through a lot of physics and bio

one word for 2013

How many times growing up were you told to be a leader? Our society seems focused on being the leader, the one out in front all the time. We are taught to develop our leadership skills we pick team captains from childhood we strive for promotions we work hard to be at the front of the pack. I'm definitely no exception--I worked hard to become captain of my cheer squad from middle school on through my senior year, I studied to be at the head of my class and then get into the Honors Program at Tech when I started college (the first time around , anyways!), I developed the skills that would get me into grad school. I was taught to lead instead of just going along with the crowd. What if there's something else being asked of me, though? Hang with me here--if you're like me, this concept is a bit of a hard pill to swallow. What if, instead of being pushed to become a leader, I'm being asked to simply... Follow. That is my word for 2013. It found me unexpect

2015...a year of trust

Welcome to 2015! I know I'm a little bit late...sorry about that. In fact, I haven't posted anything since the middle of November--so I guess I'll say sorry for that, too, because two months is a long time to go without writing anything on here. There's a good reason for about a month of my silence, because my parents brought us home for Christmas so I was away from the computer. Here's a glimpse of what my time there was like: I would like to say that that's my only reason for not writing lately. The thing is, there's this little matter of promising to be honest, faithful, and transparent when I write here. So I have to admit--I haven't written because I feel like I've lost my voice. For so long, writing has been the one thing I've been able to do without fail. No matter what chaos or confusion was swimming around in my mind, I could pick up a pen and get everything out. Even though it didn't change anything, just being able to pu
